In kamakura every year, all the surf heavies get together and clean the beach (yep for free), and they even landscape it, by weeding etc, and repair whatever needs fixing, then they have a BBQ and hopefully surf (if there is surf)….

I found Moris face in some drift wood today, he was stoked. In kamakura today it was the annual festival, it was a big parade where a bunch of dudes carry large shrines for like 3 hours, multiple miles around kamakura. (see video)
