Surf artist and inspiration Thomas Campbell’s goods at my buddy Shem’s house in VERMONT
Just writing to say that I really enjoy your art! After discovering it via Grain myspace, I finally got to see the real deal in Portsmouth, NH last week- so neat to see all the details, the brush strokes, the layering that become more apparent by a real viewing. Anyways, your pieces invoke similar feelings that I have about surfing, art, nature & life and as an obsessive of that particular aesthetic, (T-Moe, Twist, Margaret Kilgallen, Griffin, Severson etc.) I felt that I had to write…so i am.
I appreciate the honesty and humor that you put in your work. My favorite kind of art captures those human moments that are so familiar, especially those moments only known to people who love the sea (though I think a lot of surf art out there is a bit mundane really). I certainly am inspired.
Keep on doing what you do.
Sincerely,
Mimi Roterman

TY DESIGNS SHIRT FOR SOUTH AFRICA…..
August 26, 2007 on 1:50 pm | In Ty's Archive | No Commentsthis is from my friends at ROSALOVES.com….check them out,

Two new T-shirts added to the store! See photos below, and take a moment to read our newest story about the Sharkar family from Bangladesh. The new T-shirt, designed for the Sharkars, outlines a development plan in which we believe can transform generations. Read their story and support them by purchasing their super-comfy tees!
Also, check out our other new design by our good friend, Ty Williams. This new design is our second in efforts to eradicate poverty one child at a time through raising money for young South African children’s surfboards. These surfboards will be used in a program called Son Surf South Africa, an organization on Mossel Bay, South Africa, mentoring and educating these at-risk children and teaching them how to surf in order to keep them off the streets. Thanks, Ty for the killer artwork. Again, check out Ty’s painting at www.typaints.com.
Peace to you all, and thank you for your support.
